Ned Was Happy With How Fast It Was to Sell His Inherited House

When Ned reached out to us about his inherited house in Covington, he was looking for a simple and stress-free solution. The home had belonged to a family member and, like many inherited properties in St. Tammany Parish, it had seen better days. The roof was leaking in a few places, the interior was dated, and years of wear had left the house in need of serious repairs. It wasn’t the kind of property that a new homeowner could move into right away, it needed a full rehab.

For Ned and his family, the thought of taking on that kind of project was overwhelming. Between work, family responsibilities, and the emotional weight of sorting through a loved one’s belongings, they didn’t have the time or energy to handle a renovation. Their priority was clear, they wanted to sell the home quickly, in as-is condition, without having to make repairs or clean out every room.

One of the biggest challenges was the amount of personal property left inside. The house was filled with furniture, boxes, and sentimental items collected over the years. The family took what was meaningful to them and left the rest for us to handle. That’s something we’re always happy to do. Cleaning out a loved one’s home can be both physically and emotionally draining, and we never want that to be a barrier for someone trying to move forward.

Because the family wanted to close quickly, they chose to sell for cash rather than list the property through a realtor. A traditional buyer using bank financing would have meant weeks of appraisals, inspections, and potential delays. As cash buyers, we were able to skip all that and move at the family’s pace. We handled everything smoothly, and within a short time, Ned and his family were sitting at the closing table, relieved to have the process behind them.

For us, this was another great example of how selling directly can make life easier for families who’ve inherited a home that needs work. We bought the property as-is, and Ned was grateful for how fast and respectful the entire experience was. Seeing him smile at closing made it all worth it.

Steve: What was it like selling your house to Home Buyer Louisiana?

Ned: Very professional. I appreciate the time constraint that they gave me and considering the health of my family and did the right things and went out of their way to get certain things that they really didn’t have to to bring back to my family.

I appreciate everything they did. If I know someone that wants to sell a house, I definitely recommend them. Thank you very much.
