I’m here at a house we’re looking to purchase. We’re in Laplace. Laplace was hit very heavily from hurricane Ida, so there is a lot of devastation in the area. It’s quite sad to drive the streets really.
This homeowner is in a bad situation. If you look behind me, the house looks nice for a second, but they’ve had to gut out a lot of the property because it took damage through water—a real shame. It’s a nice beautiful house with high ceilings, four bedrooms, two baths, and many more. But Ida came along and did a lot of damage to it and now there’s a lot to replace and the owners reach out to us because they don’t really want to do the renovation. They would prefer to get the insurance check, and to sell the house fast in As is condition.
