Buying a Hurricane-Damaged House As-Is in Des Allemands, Louisiana
In this property walkthrough, Dillon King from Home Buyer Louisiana visits a distressed home in Des Allemands, Louisiana that was purchased at auction after Hurricane Ida. Because the house sits directly on the water, it had already suffered significant wind and water damage before the current owner bought it, making it an example of the challenges homeowners face when selling after storm damage.
The owner lives outside the area and had been trying to manage repairs from a distance. By the time Dillon arrived, the owner was also dealing with fire damage and exploring options for selling a fire-damaged house.
The video shows the condition of the home and explains how Home Buyer Louisiana helps property owners sell houses as-is, even when major repairs, storm damage, or unwanted belongings are involved.
You can watch the video to see the property and hear more about the situation, or read the video transcript below.

It’s Dillon King from Home Buyer Louisiana, and I’m here in Des Allemands, Louisiana. I’m not sure whether I’m on the St. Charles Parish side or the Lafourche Parish side, but I’m here because someone went to HomeBuyerLouisiana.com and told us about a property she owns.
She actually purchased this property at an auction after Hurricane Ida. At that point, the home already had wind and water damage since it sits right on the water behind us. That damage is what made it possible for her to buy the property.
She doesn’t live locally, so she had been trying to get some repairs done. When I arrived, I was told by a neighbor that the property had also suffered fire damage. I’m assuming that was probably the last straw for her.
I’m here to assess the property and make sure it is as she described it, but we’re going to buy this property as-is and as quickly as possible so we can put cash in her pocket.
It’s a great property with a lot of space, and it sits right on the water, but it has been completely gutted. It has experienced just about every kind of damage Mother Nature could throw at it. It needs a new roof, new windows, and because it has been gutted, it also needs electrical work, rough-ins, and a lot of other repairs.
If you have a property similar to this one, go to HomeBuyerLouisiana.com and tell us about it. I’ll come take a look, and we’ll take it off your hands as quickly as possible.
There’s also an RV and an old vehicle parked out front. I don’t know whether they belong to the current owner or if they were already here when she bought the property at auction, but either way, she won’t have to remove any of it. She won’t have to make repairs or clean anything up. We’re buying this property for cash, exactly as it is.
