Selling an Unwanted Rental Property Near Holly Grove in New Orleans
Not every homeowner is dealing with a house that needs major repairs. Sometimes the challenge is simply owning a property that no longer fits their plans. In this case, the owners of a home near the Holly Grove neighborhood in New Orleans had relocated to Mississippi and were ready to move on from a rental property they no longer wanted to manage.
The home had previously been rented to family members or friends of the family, but after the tenants moved out, the owners decided they did not want the responsibility of finding and managing new renters. Instead, they wanted a straightforward way to sell the property and put the situation behind them.
In this video, Dillon King walks through the house and shares what he observed during the inspection. While there are a few minor issues, including some cracked bathroom tile, uneven flooring, and sheetrock tape-line cracks, the property is generally in good condition. The walkthrough highlights how some homeowners choose to sell even when a house is largely turnkey because they no longer want the burden of ownership.

Hi everyone, it is Dillon King with Home Buyer Louisiana. I’m here off Earhart, not too far from the Holly Grove neighborhood. We have another property that I am inspecting for the current owners.
I believe this was a family home. The owners relocated to Mississippi, and the property became a rental. I believe they were renting it to family members or friends of the family.
That arrangement has run its course. The tenants have moved out, and the owners do not want to rent the property to someone they do not know. They are concerned about whether a new tenant would take care of the property, so they feel it is best to get it off their hands.
They went to HomeBuyerLouisiana.com, told us about the property, and provided their contact information. I am here doing my usual inspection and taking a look around. They want a fast sale, which is why they came to us. We buy houses as-is and close as quickly as possible, putting cash in your pocket.
After walking through the property, it appears to be a turnkey home. The owners simply do not want to deal with it anymore. I did notice some cracked tile in the bathrooms, and the floors are a little uneven. It is a raised home, so I am assuming there may be some joist issues, but nothing major.
I also noticed cracks along several sheetrock tape lines throughout the house. Some of it looks like it could be old water damage, but seeing multiple tape-line cracks could also indicate that the AC system is not properly sized for the home, possibly causing minor moisture issues.
As I mentioned, the uneven flooring is mostly noticeable in some rooms and the bathrooms. Other than that, there is really nothing major wrong with this property. We see all kinds of situations. If you have watched any of our other videos, you have seen ceilings caving in and floors that I cannot even walk on.
The utilities are still on at this property. The owners live in Mississippi and do not want to worry about renting the house to someone they do not know or how the property will be cared for. They feel it is best to sell it as quickly as possible.
If this situation resonates with you or someone you know, go to HomeBuyerLouisiana.com, or send them there, and we will be in touch.
