We bought this hurricane damaged Metairie property

We buy a lot of hurricane damaged properties. Like this house in Metairie that had been damaged. The seller had started fixing the house but didn’t have the energy or funds to complete. They then reached out to us to because they knew we bought houses in As Is condition. We were able to make them a cash offer that worked for them. There was some title issues to work through but we have great Title Attorney’s and were able to work through that.

What’s up, everybody? It’s John with Home Buyer Louisiana. I’m in a house in Metairie, Louisiana. As you can see, there’s not a lot left of it here. The seller actually came to us because their insurance claim was denied after some storm damage. They had managed to get halfway through repairing the house but couldn’t afford to continue, and unfortunately, it ended up in the shape you see now.

We talked with the homeowner and were able to agree on a price that worked for them. This allowed them to move out and move on. However, there were some title issues related to old divorce paperwork that had been done improperly about 20 years ago. We had to help them work through a succession process. Luckily, we have people who specialize in that, so we were able to resolve the issues with help from our title attorney friends.

In the end, we managed to get everything sorted, and the homeowner was able to move on to the next chapter of their life and be with family. We now have a new project to work on here in Metairie, but most importantly, it was a happy ending for the seller.
