Don’t sit on a vacant property because things go missing (Ask us how we know this)

We always preach to people to not sit on vacant properties. We tell them if you sit on it without fixing it or selling it then the condition can get worse quickly. Well we aren’t immune to this either. Check out this video of our Founder Steve Keighery at a vacant property that he owns that got broken into.

Hey guys, it’s Aussie Steve from Home Buyer Louisiana. We buy houses in any condition here in Louisiana. Today, I’m at one of the properties we purchased a little while ago in the Leonidas area of Orleans Parish. It’s a Sunday night, and I had to come out here because someone informed me that the doors had been broken open and some items were stolen.

As an investor who buys a lot of distressed houses, I often see this happening. Vacant properties can attract issues such as termites, and they can be a target for burglars. The longer a property remains vacant, the more problems it can attract. In this case, people have tried to steal copper wires, window units, and other parts.

This property was an inherited property, and I haven’t had a chance to fix it yet, so I understand the challenges of owning a vacant property. So, take my advice, don’t sit on vacant property too long. If you want to get rid of it, get rid of it. Sell your house fast, sell it to someone like us, we will buy it all cash and in as is condition. And if you want to fix it, fix it, but whatever you do, don’t wait too long before selling it. Vacant properties can quickly decrease in value, and you may run into more problems like this.
