We buy dated houses just like this one in New Orleans East

Dated houses can be tough to sell on the open market. Most buyers in New Orleans want something fresh, modern, and already updated, so older homes often sit without much interest. This property in New Orleans East is a good example. It had that classic retro feel that many long time homes in the area still carry, but the owner knew it would take a full renovation to match the expectations of today’s buyers. Instead of putting money into repairs or cosmetic updates, they reached out to us because they wanted to sell a house as is and let a buyer handle the work.

New Orleans East has a lot of homes built in the 1960s and 1970s, and many of them still have original fixtures, wood paneling, and older kitchens. We enjoy bringing these houses back to life and giving them a fresh look while keeping the charm of the neighborhood. Sellers appreciate that they can skip the cleaning, skip the repairs, and get a straightforward cash offer without dealing with the stress of a long listing process. Many people dealing with older properties choose to sell a house as is instead of taking on a renovation.

What’s up, everybody? It is Jon with Home Buyer Louisiana. I’m in a house out in New Orleans East. This one’s actually from one of our investor friends and colleagues. It’s in a pretty nice neighborhood of the East, but everything in here is kind of dated. It’s pretty neat, though, you see all the wood paneling walls, an old Sears Kenmore stove, and Formica countertops. This place is truly a step back in time. These are some of my favorites, actually.

We’re checking it out for him. It’s just not his specialty, something he didn’t really want to mess with. So we’re going to try to help him out so he can move on to another project. We’ll get this one, and I’m not sure exactly what we’re going to do with it yet, that’s what I’m trying to figure out now. But I like it; it’s definitely got potential.

It’s actually got a cool little mother in law building right next door, which is pretty unique. I think it’s a cool spot. To some people, this is probably not the best house, but I always say, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” I like this house.

If you have a house like this that you don’t like or want to get rid of, maybe you’ve inherited a property or just don’t want it anymore, check us out at HomeBuyerLouisiana.com.
