We Buy Inherited Houses (Even when the boarded up, run down and full of Wasps)

We buy houses in As Is condition so people frequently reach out to us to sell run down, boarded up houses that they inherited. We aren’t scared off by houses like this and in fact we even enjoy restoring them. We are also very used to buying houses that haven’t gone through succession yet. In most cases we get our Title Attorneys to do the succession as part of the sales process.  So we agree on a price and contract the property with the heirs and then the title company does the succession work. We get our plans together for the rehab while that is going on and as soon as the succession is done we close on the property.

The nice thing about doing the succession as part of the sales process is that you don’t need to come out of pocket for the succession work. This can be really helpful. Also since we buy in As Is condition you don’t need to clean the house out or  make repairs.

The seller came to us because this property was inherited from his mother. He lives out of state and needs our help, as it’s been sitting for a while. If you look back there, you can see that one of the doors, the main door, was boarded up, but it looks like someone may have gone inside. There are a lot of wasps around as well.

So, I’ve got my handy-dandy wasp spray, and I’m going to go check it out. We are definitely interested in this property. There’s hardly any property, no matter the condition, that we wouldn’t be interested in. So, if you have a property that looks like this, definitely let us know.
