We bought this run down house with complicated title issues in Gentilly

People usually come to us because they have a house to sell that has become a burden and there are usually problems with the house and/or the title. So we love nothing more than seeing the relief, happiness and smiles at the closing table.  This was one of those complicated sales. The seller had inherited the property, but one of the heirs had been missing for a very long time so they didn’t have the full authority to sell the house. To make matters worse, the taxes hadn’t been paid for years and they were being threated with foreclosure they risked losing all their equity. The house was also in really bad shape as well. You can probably see why they have had trouble being able to sell the house and stop the foreclosure auction.

The owners reached out to us because they heard we were good at dealing with these sort of problems. They had heard right and we were able to buy the house from them. Because one of the heirs was missing we did have to go before a judge to get permission to sell. We work with great title attorneys and they were able to facilitate this. We were able to clear up the outstanding taxes and we bought the house in As Is condition so they didn’t have to make repairs or clean up.
