We buy gutted houses, just like this one in Westwego

Gutted houses are more common on the West Bank than people realize, especially in older communities like Westwego where storms, age, and long deferred repairs can leave a property stripped down to the framing. Many owners feel stuck when a house reaches this point because the work needed can be expensive and time consuming. That is why so many people reach out to us when they want a simple way to sell a house as-is without rebuilding it themselves.

This Westwego property is a good example. With the walls opened up and the interior taken down to the studs, you can clearly see what needs attention. While that can feel overwhelming for a homeowner, it actually makes planning easier for an investor. You know exactly what needs to be replaced, which parts of the framing can be saved, and how to design a layout that works for a future buyer or tenant. That is one of the reasons we buy so many gutted homes throughout Louisiana. They give us a clean slate to work with and let sellers move on without the stress of repairs.

Jon was recently inside this Westwego house to take a look at the condition and talk through the situation.

You can watch the video to see the property and hear more about the situation, or read the video transcript below.

What’s up everybody, it’s Jon again with Home Buyer Louisiana. I am in a gutted house in Westwego. We love Westwego and really all of the West Bank. This one’s actually one of our colleagues who’s another investor. It’s just another project that he picked up and decided he wanted to do something else with.

It’s pretty standard issue. The framing may have to be redone since some of the wood is a little eaten up by termites. Not too bad though, I’ve seen way worse. But yeah, we like houses like this because we buy houses in As Is condition. They are pretty much a clean slate, so they’re easy to work with.

You can see there are a couple of spots that will need some work where the walls are coming apart. But if you’ve got a house like this and you don’t know what to do with it, you’re ready to get rid of it, or if you’ve inherited it or just have an investment you don’t want to mess with anymore, you name it, we can probably help you out.

Visit us at HomeBuyerLouisiana.com, fill out the form for a free cash offer, and hopefully we can work something out for you. Hope to talk to you soon, and thanks for watching!
