We bought this Kenner house in As Is condition. It had a number of issues with it. The electricity didn’t work in parts of the house, the roof was leaking and causing ceiling damage, there was lots of damage (and smell) from the animals that lived at the house. The house needed a lot of work to make it appealing to a new owner and the current owner didn’t have the time, energy or resources to do this work. Hey everyone, this is Aussie Steve from Home Buyer Louisiana. I’m here at a house we just purchased in Jefferson Parish.

As you can see, I’ve got my mask on—usually I take it off when filming a video, but in this case it actually serves two purposes. This house had a lot of animals in it, and there’s a really strong smell. So, the mask definitely comes in handy for situations like this.

We’re purchasing this property in as-is condition, like we always say. We’re happy to buy houses even when they have issues. In this case, most of the stuff inside is actually being left behind. We’ll donate what we can to charity and put the rest in dumpsters.

The house definitely has its challenges. The previous owners had a lot of animals, so the smell is strong and the floors are very scuffed up. Unfortunately, the couple went through a divorce and neither of them ended up taking care of the house. It fell into disrepair, and now both of them are moving on.

There’s quite a bit of cleanup needed. For example, the fridge—yeah, don’t open that. We’ll be clearing everything out, and as you can see, there’s some water damage due to an issue with the roof. It’s definitely a house that needs a lot of work.

But that’s okay—this is what we do. This property is located in Kenner, which is actually a really nice area in Jefferson Parish. It’s the kind of house that, once fixed up, a homeowner is really going to appreciate.
