Selling a House As-Is With Exterior Damage in Baker, Louisiana
In this video, Dillon from Home Buyer Louisiana is in Baker, just outside of Baton Rouge, helping a homeowner move a property they no longer want to deal with. The house sits in a nice neighborhood with plenty of space, but its condition makes it a challenge to sell through traditional channels.
From the outside, there are clear signs of age and neglect. The property shows exterior damage, including falling shutters, fence issues, and visible slope concerns. There are also signs that the house may not be well sealed from the weather, which raises concerns about moisture and roof-related issues inside.
This walkthrough focuses on selling a house in Baker when repairs and updates are no longer realistic, and why many owners decide to sell a house as-is rather than investing more money into an aging property.

Hey, it’s me again with Home Buyer Louisiana. My name is Dillon. I’m a bit outside of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish right now. We’re just outside of Baton Rouge in Baker, Louisiana. We’re helping someone move a property they no longer want.
It’s actually in a really nice neighborhood with a lot of space. From the exterior, though, I can already see some pretty extensive damage. You can even see the slope, and it’s more drastic in person than it looks on my phone camera. There are shutters falling off the exterior of the house, and the property is pretty aged. I can tell the doors probably aren’t fully sealed from the weather and there are other exterior issues like that.
Just a few blocks over, the neighborhood seems a little iffy, but when you come onto this block, it feels nicer. You can also see damage on the fence. I haven’t even gone inside yet, but based on what I can see from the outside, there’s probably roof and moisture damage affecting the interior.
If you have a house or property nearby, whether that’s New Orleans or elsewhere, like I said, I’m in Baker just outside of Baton Rouge right now.
